API RING — Privacy Policy

1. Your API keys stay on your device

All keys, names, tags, and notes you save in API Ring are stored using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own computer. They are never uploaded, synced, transmitted, or accessible to us or any third party. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.

2. Data we collect (optional, opt-in only)

• Email address — if you choose to subscribe to the Plunder & Riffle newsletter to unlock unlimited key storage, you submit your email on our website (plunderandriffle.com) in your browser. It is handled there by the newsletter provider (beehiiv) and used to deliver the newsletter. The extension does not collect or transmit it.
• Website analytics — the pages on this site that host API Ring (the homepage, the landing and invite pages, and these legal pages) use Google Analytics to count page views and button clicks (for example, clicks on the "Install Free in Chrome" button). Google receives standard web data such as your IP address and browser/device type under Google's own terms. No API keys, emails, or extension data are ever involved. You can opt out any time with an ad blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

The extension performs no network communication of any kind. Your unlock status is stored locally on your device.

3. Website analytics (this site, not the extension)

The extension has no analytics, no telemetry, and no network access — that does not change. But the plunderandriffle.com pages that host API Ring (the homepage, the /apiring landing, the invite page, and these legal pages) use Google Analytics (property G-1E10QKHDMB) to understand which pages are visited and which buttons are clicked — for example, how many visitors click "Install Free in Chrome" or "Download API Ring". This is standard website measurement, happens in your browser when you browse this site, and involves no extension data whatsoever.

4. What we don't do

• We do not collect, transmit, or have any access to your API keys.
• We do not use analytics or tracking inside the extension.
• We do not sell or share your email address with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's function.

5. Clipboard

API Ring writes to your clipboard only when you click a copy button. It never reads your clipboard.

6. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored keys are under your control: delete them in the extension or by uninstalling it. To remove your email from the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
